JHO LOW NOT IN CHINA: CHINESE EMBASSY CONFIRMS TO GUAN ENG NO ONE BY NAME OF JHO LOW OR LOW JHO TECK THERE – UNLESS HE’S USING ‘ANOTHER NAME ON A DIFFERENT PASSPORT’

UALA LUMPUR: The has government confirmed that fugitive businessman Low Jho Teck or Jho Low was not in China.

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said he was informed by the Chinese Embassy that Jho Low was not in the country, unless the businessman has been using a different name on a different passport.

“I spoke to the Chinese Embassy and they informed me that Jho Low was not in the country.

“Unless, he uses another name on a different passport.

“But based on China’s record, no individual by the name of Jho Low is in the country,” he told a news conference after attending the Budget 2019 Budget talks with the Ministers and Deputy Prime Ministers at the Parliament today.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said Jho Low was hiding like a rat after being tracked down by various parties including authorities in Malaysia and the United States.

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) in a statement yesterday said Jho Low and Roger Ng were charged in the Federal Court in East New York for conspiring to steal millions of dollars from 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).

DoJ stated that Jho Low and Roger Ng were also charged with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) by paying a “third person” in the Malaysian government and Abu Dhabi.
