Umno man says he loves Indians, calls himself 'ultra Indian'

Tajuddin Abdul Rahman (Umno-Pasir Salak) today portrayed himself as a champion of the Indian community in the Dewan Rakyat, even calling himself an "ultra Indian".
Tajuddin had interjected during Education Minister Maszlee Malik’s turn to answer oral questions, to ask that the government consider the construction of a Tamil primary school in his constituency.
This invited sniggers from the opposing bench. "What are you laughing at?" Tajuddin barked.
He then added: "I love Indians, you know" and laughed.
RSN Rayer (Harapan-Jelutong) then stood up and asked if Tajuddin was putting on a charade.
Tajuddin then replied: "Do you know I gave a grandchild to Indians? I help with the operation for Indian people so that they can see again".
"You don't know that, Jelutong. I love Indians. I'm ultra Indian, you know," he added.
Maszlee, who was earlier responding to M Karupaiya (Harapan-Padang Serai) about Tamil schools, appeared amused.
"I thank Pasir Salak (for his question). I did not expect (to learn) that he loved Indians so much or that he is an ultra Indian.
"So the saying is true, 'don't judge a book by its cover'," Maszlee said.
Tajuddin then replied: "Don't judge my songkok".
Tajuddin had in September organised a Malay rights rally, claiming that the present government was threatening the position of Malays. - Mkini
