Zuraida downplays veiled 'dictator' reference to party appointments

PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamarudin denied that her article published by Utusan Malaysia two days ago referred to her party or party president Anwar Ibrahim.
She said she was merely giving a 'general view' that did not refer to any political party or any leader.
"I did not point a finger at PKR because as a politician and a citizen of Malaysia, I have the right to offer my vision of politics and the future.
"So it is not necessary (that I) point fingers or refer to a particular party. That's my view as a whole and in general," she said when met at a political seminar in Petaling Jaya today.
Taking to the Umno-owned daily on Jan 13, Zuraida said recent leadership appointments by “a political party” did not respect the wishes of the grassroots and were a betrayal of democracy.
She said the party's constitution allowed for its president to decide on certain appointments, but this should be done with consultations.
While she did not name any political party or leader, her view was seen as a veiled attack on Anwar who is PKR president.
Zuraida added that it was the media which drew the conclusion that she was referring to Anwar.
