NGO coalition calls on govt to shape up or ship out within next 100 days

KUALA LUMPUR: Gabungan Kuasa Rakyat has called on the government to fulfil their demands or dissolve Parliament within the next 100 days.
The coalition of non-governmental organisations said this at a gathering at Dataran Merdeka Saturday (Feb 22) and called on the government to admit their failings in leading and governing the country.
Gabungan Kuasa Rakyat spokesperson Nazrin Norani said they gathered to voice their dismay with the performance of the Pakatan Harapan government.
Speaking to media after the gathering, Nazrin said that he wants the Pakatan Harapan government to "get a handle on the economic and financial crises which seem to be getting worse".
"We want them to work on the increasing cost of living, welfare of the people who have been neglected, as well as come up with a realistic action plan for youths," he said.
He said their list of demands were also posted on their Kuasa Rakyat Facebook page.
"Why do we need the same old faces in politics?. I was in Form 4 when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim began fighting, now my son is in Form 4 and the same thing is happening," he said.
He said there were many other leaders capable of leading the country.
"If you do not take our demands seriously and work on them within 100 days we will think of ways to make our voices heard.
"If you cannot meet our demands, dissolve Parliament and give us back the mandate so that we can elect someone more capable of taking over," he said. - Star
