Malaysiakini

The National Security Council (NSC) has released the standard operating procedures (SOP) for numerous sectors including cinemas, mosques, buses and the management of both government and private events.
Among the SOPs are children under the age of 12 and senior citizens above 60 are not allowed to enter the cinema.
Other than that, the guidelines state they must also ensure the following:
  • Those whose body temperature exceeds 37.5 degree Celsius or show any symptoms are not allowed to enter the premise
  • Employees and customers have to download the MySejahtera application for contact tracing purposes
  • The premise has to be cleaned and disinfected before and after the movie session
  • The cleaning and disinfection must be done at least three times a day
  • The seating arrangement must comply with the one-metre social distancing measures
The NSC has also released the SOP for mosques and suraus which include:
  • The mosque or surau must record the number of participants
  • The mosque or surau committee must have enough number of personnel to help manage the crowd
  • The mosque's doors are to be opened an hour before the azan
  • Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to enter the mosque or surau
  • Participants must bring their own prayer mat
  • Shaking hands must be avoided
As for the SOP with regard to buses, the guidelines include:
  • Passengers must wear face masks at all times during the journey
  • The bus driver or operator has the right to disallow passengers who carry any symptoms
  • The sitting capacity is 100 percent. There will be no marking for social distancing but passengers will be asked to reduce interaction.
With regard to government and private events, the number of participants must not exceed 250 people based on the capacity of the venue with one-metre social distancing to be taken into account.
The venue must have good ventilation and meals are to be given in the form of food packs.
The event organiser must create a screening counter for the participants.
