Vaccinations to go on as usual under lockdown
PETALING JAYA: The Covid-19 vaccination programme will continue as scheduled even under the total lockdown, the government says.
In a tweet, the Covid-19 vaccine supply access guarantee special committee (JKJAV) said all appointments remain valid and vaccination centres will operate as usual during the first phase of the lockdown.
“Please show your appointment details or MySejahtera for verification.”
Some social media users had questioned if they could still accompany family members who would be vaccinated.
“Can I drive my wife there since we have an eight-month-old baby who is still breastfeeding?” asked Twitter user Ikmal.
Earlier today, the government announced a 14-day total lockdown from June 1 to June 14. Only essential economic and services sectors will be allowed to operate during this period.
The move comes amid the worsening Covid-19 situation which saw a record high 8,290 cases today. On average, more than 50 deaths have been recorded daily in the past week. - FMT
