How do they sleep
Knowing
People are crying, pleading
For a way out of the mess?
The virus is killing us,
Loss of income is killing us;
More, politicking is killing us.

How do they sleep
Knowing
People are in pain?
Negotiating, manoeuvring,
Bootlicking.
Jumping jumping jumping,
Where’s the dignity?

How do they sleep
Knowing
People are dying?
Taking sides? No!
No jab of conscience?
No mask can mask it.
Serve the public, not the politician.

How do they sleep
Knowing
People are prisoners?
Giving confusing directives,
Practising double standards.
VIP? No problem.
Housewife? Sorry Mak Cik.

How do they sleep
Knowing
People are losing sleep?
Sitting high,
Colluding, clamping down,
Stonewalling.
Conscience, where art thou?

How do they sleep
Knowing
People are at breaking point?
The wayang kulit can’t continue;
Are we to go on like this until GE15?
Let Parliament take a vote;
Or let the King decide.
