MySejahtera gets ‘check-out’ function, vax status to be more prominent
The MySejahtera app is getting a few improvements tonight including a new look that would make it easier to determine a person’s vaccination status.
Based on screenshots shared by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin today, the users’ check-in screen would soon show not just their Covid-19 risk status, but also their vaccination status.
“The MySejahtera team will push a new build tonight making it easier for people to display their risk level and vaccination status. This will ease living with Covid-19, together.
“Will further update and improve the app over the coming weeks,” he said on Twitter.
In addition, a ‘check-out’ button has been added to complement the app’s ‘check-in’ function. Khairy said this is to improve contact tracing.
“After leaving a place, please remember to check-out. You only need to press a button - no scan needed,” he said.
Vaccination status is becoming more important in daily lives as fully vaccinated individuals enjoy greater freedoms under Covid-19 restrictions implemented nationwide.
However, a person’s vaccination status is presently not shown prominently on the app.
Instead, it will take several taps on a smartphone screen to retrieve the user’s vaccination certificate.
The certificate only shows the dates each vaccine dose was administered, so a person inspecting the certificate would have to determine whether the requisite number of days has elapsed.
For the record, a person is considered fully vaccinated 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose vaccine is administered. For a single-dose vaccine, the time is 28 days after the vaccine is administered.
This is to allow time for the vaccine-induced immunity to mature. - Mkini
