I use Pfizer and Co 'spirits' - KJ's sarcastic response to 'demonic protection'

Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin has fired back with a sarcastic quip at an alleged anti-vaccination group who claimed he was protecting himself with “four demonic spirits” through a bracelet he wears on his left hand.

“Wrong. I am using four types of vaccine spirits to protect Malaysia: the Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and CanSino spirits,” Khairy (above) said in his response on his Instagram “Stories” today.

The minister had posted screenshots of messages in what appeared to be two Telegram groups for those who are against vaccination.

One of the screenshots showed a conversation in which someone claimed Khairy was wearing a talisman bracelet that he uses to protect himself with “four demonic spirits”.

Another screenshot depicted what appeared to be a message praying for the failure of Khairy and his allies. Khairy had added the caption, “Anti-vaxxers stepping up their game”.

This came after Khairy had yesterday said the government will make life “difficult” for those who refuse to be inoculated against Covid-19.

“Perhaps it may sound crude but our approach is to make life ‘difficult’ for those who do not vaccinate,” he had said.

So far, the government has not introduced a blanket mandate but vaccination against Covid-19 has been made compulsory for certain sectors.

This includes the federal civil service where those who refuse without proper medical reasons may face disciplinary action.

Khairy has since received criticism for this, with Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim saying he disagrees with this “forceful” and “arrogant” approach.  - Mkini
