Taiwanese Woman With Terminal Cancer Lives Last Dream of Beautiful Wedding Photoshoot

After Taiwanese Q May Chen was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer two years ago, she figured she might at least be able to salvage one childhood dream and still turn it into a reality.

When the high-spirited 27-year-old was a child, she would always dress up, dreaming of being featured in her own her wedding photo shoot someday.

“When I was younger, I loved to dress up and always hoped that I would one day be able to do my own wedding shoot when I got married,” Chen told BuzzFeed.

Chen was actually declared cancer-free four years ago after receiving treatment for her then-stage two breast cancer. Unfortunately, her cancer returned two years later, and in fact, even worsened to stage four.

“And so I waited, but then I got sick again…that was when I finally decided that this was something I needed to do.”

On her birthday last year, Chen went on to do her own wedding photo shoot by herself, after deciding she didn’t even need a groom to fulfill her childhood dream.

“I couldn’t have known that stage four cancer was waiting for me, but I’m making the most of the limited time we all have,” she was quoted as saying.

Her illness also made her more independent, allowing her to pursue other life goals such as getting her driving license.

“I feel like sometimes it may seem like God has made you fall over, but maybe it’s actually him pushing you to achieve something more,” she said.

According to Chen, she is sharing her story to encourage others who are in similar situations to live their lives to the fullest while they still have time.
