Annuar to bare all on Mara issue?
KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Annuar Musa is planning to “spill the beans” on the controversial anti-graft probe into Mara’s sponsorship of the Kelantan football team, which led to him being forced to take leave for seven months as the agency’s chairman.
With his term at Mara’s chair ends today, Annuar told Sinar Harian he decided to appeal against the extension of his contract as the appointment would not allow him “to speak his mind” especially on the Mara’s football sponsorship issue.
“If I continue to remain by appointment in Mara, then I will not have the freedom of speech. So today, I am free since I have let go of the position.
“Otherwise, I can only say (on matters) that had been pre-approved. Between freedom of speech and position, I choose the former.
“I have not said anything about Mara (the controversy) for seven months. When I was told to go on leave, I did not go to the office or gave comments on the issue. I have been eager to say something (on the issue). I have waited for seven months.” -NST
