JoLo Cuts Deal With US DOJ, Gets Off The Hook ! ! ! US DOJ Opens Criminal Case, Is JoLo's Life At Stake? So What Did Rex Tillerson Say To MO1 ?

Folks, JoLo saves his skin.
MO1, Hippo and Step Son to fry.

*** "DOJ asked judge in LA to put on hold civil forfeiture lawsuits against JoLo"***
***"pursuing these cases may hamper the criminal investigation."***

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (oops - he already visited KL)

What fantastic timing.

Coincidentally or no, the US DOJ is opening criminal charges over the 1MDB scandal.

It is believed that JoLo is cooperating closely with the DOJ.  The DOJ is now putting on hold their assets seizure proceedings against JoLo. Banyak cantik !!

When one crook starts to cooperate with the authorities it is called plea bargaining, turning  state wirness etc.  Others simply call it 'becoming a snitch'.

In the United States a snitch is usually protected by the FBI. This is because snitches have a habit of hiding in cement filled oil barrels. It has happened before.

Here is the story from Bloomberg :

Stolen 1MDB Funds Are Focus of U.S. Criminal Investigation

Justice Department asks judge to put forfeiture cases on hold
Billions of dollars were allegedly looted from Malaysian fund

U.S. moving forward with criminal investigation into money stolen from 1MDB

Court filings by DOJ Thurs - U.S. escalating probe in worldwide effort
to track 1MDB money used for real estate, film productions, private jets, yachts

DOJ asked judge in LA to put on hold civil forfeiture lawsuits against Jho Low
pursuing these cases may hamper the criminal investigation.
FBI agent warned information disclosed may reveal “potential targets"
  • could result in destruction of evidence
  • flight of potential subjects and targets
  • identification and intimidation of potential witnesses

from 2009 through 2015, US$4.5b (RM19.2b) belonging to 1MDB diverted

JoLo assets: Park Lane Hotel, US$107m in EMI Music, US$35m  Jet, $30m penthouse

US$1.29m heart-shaped diamond
$3.8m diamond pendant Low gave to Miranda Kerr

$3.2m Picasso painting to Leonardo DiCaprio
movie financed by Riza Aziz using misappropriated 1MDB funds.

Najib was chairman of 1MDB’s advisory board

PM's Office, Ministry of Finance and 1MDB didn’t reply emails

My comments :

This is really, really strange. US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson (oops already came to KL).  At the same time the US DOJ is moving to criminal investigation against the 1MDB related money laundering culprits.

The civil suit against JoLo has been put on hold.

So what did Rex Tillerson tell MO1?
"Why dont you check out of Hotel Malaysia and check into Hotel California?"

If there is plea bargaining between JoLo and the US DOJ it may involve negotiating for a lesser sentence.

More importantly for JoLo he will ask to keep some of the money.  So that when he gets out of jail there is some cash waiting for him.

I bet the guy has also stashed away sufficient amounts in cash US Dollars and gold bars somewhere outside the US. Maybe in Hong Kong or Macao. Physical gold and physical cash. Maybe in a huge strong room on some estate held in someone else's name.

Akhir kalam : Budak China dan Mat Salleh FBI bukan lah bodoh sangat.
