Two experienced veterans shortlisted for Malacca speaker, says Adly

The Malacca state government has listed two names for the post of state legislative assembly speaker.
Malacca Chief Minister Adly Zahari said the names of the two nominees would be brought to the state exco meeting on Wednesday (June 27) for decision.
"The announcement on the new speaker would be announced on Thursday after deliberation in the state exco meeting on Wednesday.
"Both are men, veterans, and possess vast political experience with Anwar Ibrahim," he told reporters at the Aidilfitri open house hosted by the state government which is helmed by Pakatan Harapan.
Adly said the Malacca state legislative assembly sitting would be held on July 19 should Parliament hold its session on July 16.
"The state assembly sitting would be held for seven days with one day for the swearing in ceremony followed by debate on the state budget,” he said.
Meanwhile, the open house was also attended by Malacca head of state Mohd Khalil Yaakob and about 25,000 people.
