PD polls: Multi-cornered fight as 8 candidates file nomination papers

PORT DICKSON: Eight candidates filed their nomination papers for the Oct 13 Port Dickson by-election at the Port Dickson Municipal Council hall here Saturday (Sept 29).

They are Pakatan Harapan's Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PAS' Lt Col (Rtd) Mohd Nazari Mokhtar, Anwar's former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan and former Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Tan Sri Isa Samad.

Four others are social media personality Stevie Chan Keng Leong, Lau Seck Yan, Kan Chee Yuen and A. Rajendra.

Rajendra was the last to file his papers.

Except for Anwar and Mohd Nazari, the other candidates are contesting as independents.

Nomination period closed at 10am.

Returning officer Khary Maamor is expected to make an official announcement on the final list at 11am.-Star
