Viral Tweet on How a Japanese Mom Saved Her Son From Suicide Will Give You Feels
A Twitter user who goes by the handle name of @loveglasslip recently shared a story on how his Japanese mother saved him when he was about to commit suicide by using an item he made when he was a child.
The Twitter user went on to tell his story, which happened while he was still attending school, according to SoraNews24.

“When I was a high school student, I suffered hardship after hardship until it all became too much. I found myself with my feet perched on the railings of the roof of my apartment building, thirteen floors above ground level, with the intention of jumping and ending it all,” he wrote.
Luckily, as he was about to jump to his death, the Twitter user’s mother came in and caught him in the process.
“But right then, my mother caught me. She held something out towards me, pulled straight from her wallet. I recognized it as the ticket that I had made for Mother’s Day in kindergarten. It read ‘this ticket makes any wish come true,’” he continued. “The two of us embraced right there on the rooftop and wept together, and since then I’ve never once thought about killing myself.”
This experience that the Twitter user shared encouraged several other users to share their own story, including one from a person who has worked at a funeral parlor for nearly a decade.

“I’ve been working at a funeral parlor for nine years, and not once have I seen a pleasant ceremony for a suicide victim. The family left behind always blame themselves, and even if they send off the deceased person with a good ceremony everyone finishes it in low spirits,” the user, who goes by the handle name of @sennonaifu, wrote as a response.
“Everyone dies eventually, you know. I think it’s okay not to rush it,” the user continued. “I’m really glad you could grant your mom’s wish.”
Another user who left a comment to @loverglasslip provided a different perspective regarding what he and his mother had gone through.

“Children are so important, so important that you can’t even understand,” she continued. “If you had jumped, I just know your mother would have lost the ability to smile forever after. Thank goodness you didn’t.”
While everyone shares their experience, one Twitter user in particular thanked the original poster as the tweet potentially saved the person in one way or the other.
