Both BN and PAS agreed on Cameron candidate, Khalil says
CAMERON POLLS | PAS Youth chief Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi said today that both his party and BN agreed upon the coalition's choice of candidate for the Cameron Highlands by-election.
“BN’s candidate for Cameron Highlands was agreed upon by BN and also by PAS.
“We move together for the success of the BN candidate, and we want the Cameron Highlands rakyat to get out to vote for the BN candidate,” he told the 150-strong crowd at a ceramah in Tanah Rata tonight.
BN will field former top cop Ramli Mohd Nor this Saturday's by-election.
As Khalil told the ceramah audience, Muslims should vote for Ramli as he is also of the faith, besides being a Cameron Highlands local and a candidate with integrity.
Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, who also spoke at the ceramah, insisted that it is not his party that is racist but DAP, claiming that the latter wanted to make Malaysia a secular country.
Asyraf also explained that the ketuanan Melayu concept refers not to Malay supremacy, but Malay custodianship of the land.
“We are not talking about ketuanan in the context of master and slave, but of custodianship,” he said.
Pakatan Harapan is fielding DAP's M Manogaran to take on Ramli and two independents – Wong Seng Yee and Sallehuddin Ab Talib – for the polls. - Mkini
