Resourceful teens create a makeshift net to catch boy who was falling off a ski lift
Sometimes a leap of faith can save a life.
An 8-year-old boy who slipped off a ski lift chair was saved by a few quick-thinking teens. The boy had boarded the Screaming Eagle chairlift on Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Canada. But he failed to get properly situated, leaving him dangling off the side as the chair continued to rise up the lift. A witness said the loud music made it so his father's cries for help couldn't be heard.
Luckily, a group of 13- and 14-year old boys who were skiing below saw the dangling kid and jumped into action. They constructed a "makeshift rescue trampoline" out of netting, which they spread out underneath the lift.
