Man, 57, dies after 2km walk to vaccine centre
KENINGAU: A man who was believed to have walked more than 2km to receive his Covid-19 vaccine was found dead under a tree near the Keningau Sports Complex today.
In the incident which occured at around 9.30am, the victim was said to have collapsed while resting under the tree after walking from his home in Kampung Pampang to the Keningau Sports Complex vaccination centre (PPV).
Speaking to FMT, Keningau district police chief Shahrudin Mat Husain said medical officers went to the scene to provide emergency assistance to the victim but the 57-year-old foreign national was later pronounced dead.
“The case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.
“Preliminary investigations found that the victim had walked from his home to the PPV for his vaccination appointment via his MySejahtera application.” - FMT
