96 Covid-19 deaths, as fatalities rise for third consecutive day
PETALING JAYA: The health ministry reported 96 Covid-19 deaths yesterday, the third consecutive day the number of casualties saw an increase, according to its GitHub database.
Of the total, 21 were classified as brought-in-dead. The death toll now stands at 28,234.
A total of 69 and 76 deaths were recorded on Oct 19 and 20, respectively.
Most of the fatalities were recorded in Sarawak with 21 deaths, followed by Sabah (16), Perak (14), Kelantan (13), Selangor (12), Johor (8), Penang (6), Pahang (2), Terengganu (2), Kedah (1) and Perlis (1).
There were no deaths reported in Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.
As of 12am today, there were 89,337 active cases including 666 in intensive care units (ICU), 306 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 7,562 recoveries reported.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia now stands at 2,413,592. - FMT
