FINALLY, 3 FELDA REPS APPOINTED TO BOARD OF TROUBLED FGV

PETALING JAYA – Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGV) has appointed three representatives from Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) to its board of directors.

In filings with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, FGV said it has appointed Datuk Muzzammil Mohd Nor, Ab Ghani Mohd Ali and Datuk Abu Bakar Harun effective immediately.

Muzzammil, 45, has been appointed non-independent non-executive alternate director. He was previously head of investment unit at Felda from 2013 till 2014, financial controller at Felda from 2014 till 2015 and currently deputy director-general (management) at Felda since 2015.

Ab Ghani, 59 and Abu Bakar, 56 have both been appointed non-independent non-executive directors at FGV. Ab Ghani has been with Felda since 1981 and is currently the acting director-general at Felda while Abu Bakar is the chairman of Pahang’s Felda Affairs Committee.

Felda chairman Tan Sri Shahrir Samad had previously said Felda should have representation on FGV’s board, and proposed three individuals earlier in May.
