Salahuddin Ayub receives death threat, suspect remanded
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Salahuddin Ayub received a death threat from an unknown individual yesterday.
Salahuddin told reporters at the Parliament lobby that he had been called by the Muar district police headquarters yesterday, to assist in investigations.
The Pulai MP said he did not know the identity of the suspect and understood that the suspect was detained by the police.
"What is important right now is for me to know the the real motive. I have never quarrelled with anyone, nor have I been hostile and suddenly I received a threat like this," he said, adding it was the first time that he had received such a threat.
Earlier, his deputy Sim Tze Tzin said Salahuddin, who is also Simpang Jeram state assemblyperson, had received a death threat in the form of a written note. The carcass of a calf was also left in front of the Simpang Jeram Community Service Centre, Johor on Dec 2.
The ministry had also lodged a police report after receiving the threat.
Sim said the ministry was also waiting for police investigations to know the true motive of the suspect.
