Cops nab man claiming to be Jesus Christ
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 — Police yesterday arrested a man who proclaimed himself to be Jesus Christ, and issued death threats against the Malay Rulers, the Prime Minister and the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
The 43-year-old man had allegedly made the threats when he was stopped by the police along Jalan Tun Razak around 4.30pm yesterday.
According to a Star Online report, the man was flagged down after police spotted him driving a vehicle fitted with a licence plate bearing the words “WWE3621 KERAJAAN EMPAYAR LANGKASUKA NUSANTARA TUANKU RAJA MERONGMAHAWANGSA II SULTAN KEDAH ASAL IMAM ALMAHDI”.
The suspect’s wife and 15-year-old daughter were also in the car when the incident took place, the report said.
Enraged with the police for stopping him, the suspect threatened the policemen and said he would kill the IGP and the Prime Minister for arresting him.
He repeated his treats after being brought to the traffic police headquarters, and said that he would “kill the Malay Rulers and take over Putrajaya.”, Star Online quoted a source as saying.
The man was issued three summonses for traffic offences and referred to the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) for further action.
