CAN IGP PROVE IT’S VX NERVE GAS? IN EXCESSIVE SHOW OF DRAMA, M’SIAN COPS SEND 256-MEN TEAM TO GUARD JONG-NAM MURDER TRIAL

POLICE have deployed a team of 256 officers and personnel to the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Court Complex to ensure a smooth process today, in the case involving two women charged with murdering Kim Jong-nam, the brother of North Korea’s leader.

The case is fixed for remention at the High Court today and will be presided by justice Datuk Azmi Ariffin.

Shah Alam deputy police chief Superintendent Nek Zaidi Zakaria said police would be involved in an operation dubbed Op Prank.

Aside from personnel from the Shah Alam district police headquarters, he said, Bukit Aman Special Task Force on Organised Crime and General Operations Force personnel were also in the team.

On March 1, two women – Indonesian Siti Aisyah, 25, and Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong, 28 – were charged at the Sepang magistrate’s court with murdering Jong-nam, 45.

They are accused of committing the offence with four other individuals still at large.

No plea was recorded from the duo as the charge, which carries the mandatory death sentence, is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.

They allegedly committed the offence at klia2 around 9am on Feb 13.

Jong-nam, who used the name Kim Chol on his passport, died en route to Putrajaya Hospital.

He had been in Malaysia since Feb 6.
