Third 2017 BR1M payment starts today

BR1M payment timed to help the people prepare for Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, says finance ministry.

PUTRAJAYA: The third and final phase of the 2017 BR1M payment will be made from tomorrow in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration, which falls on Sept 1.

In a statement yesterday, the finance ministry said the payment for those who passed the appeal stage, however, would be made on Aug 29.

“It is hoped that the BR1M payment will help the people to make preparations to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha,” the ministry said.

The ministry said the BR1M payment will be credited directly to the recipients’ accounts, but those who do not have a bank account, a letter of approval will be sent to their address and can be turned into cash at any Bank Simpanan Nasional branch.
