KUALA LUMPUR (April 18): Malaysia's inflation, as measured by the consumer price index (CPI), rose 1.3% in March 2018 from a year earlier on costlier items including food and non-alcoholic beverages besides healthcare, according to the Statistics Department.

In a statement today, the department's chief statistician Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the CPI's food and non-alcoholic beverage segment rose 2.8% while the health portion climbed 2%.
