PUTRAJAYA (July 6): Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will be looking to reduce the interest rates relating to loans that have been drawn down for the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and the Suria Strategic Energy Resources Sdn Bhd (SSER)’s Sabah’s gas pipelines projects.

Mahathir told a press conference this today after being asked about reconciliations he hoped to achieve with Chinese parties on the billions of ringgit in loans that ECRL and SSER projects have drawn down, despite the slow progress of work.
