McDonald’s in Japan Starts Using Trays Made Form Recycled Plastic Toys

McDonald’s in Japan are using trays recycled from plastic toys as part of the fast food chain’s attempt to reduce plastic waste.

McDonald’s Japan asked customers to bring in their kids’ toys that they do not use or play with anymore, including plastic robots and cars.

Some of the donated plastic toys are giveaways as part of the fast food chain’s meal set for children, according to Japanese news network NHK.

The company said that customers have been invested in recycling; since they’ve started, McDonald’s Japan has already collected more than one million toys that were used to make around 100,000 trays.
