MOHAMAD HASAN (TOK MAT), UMNO/BN CANDIDATE FOR RANTAU A PROUD AND UNFRIENDLY PERSON

Mohamad Hasan or Tok Mat as he is called, from my view point is a very proud and unfriendly person.

Negeri Sembilan during his MBship witness no real development to boast about. Even his hometown Rantau, nothing substantial could be seen except for some housing development which is a need in this growing village. It is still a sleepy village to speak of.

Employment in Rantau is very scarce and the people need to travel to Seremban, Senawang, Port Dickson or even Kuala Lumpur to earn a living.

One thing is certain, his brothers, family and close-friends have gained substantially from him. Go and talk to the people in Negeri Sembilan, this is what they will say to you.

Some Malays praise him since he arranges to pay their utility bills or give them aid when they call in at his office or service centre regularly. This was always provided for to the "poor" Malays since the Isa's era.

Mohamad Hasan seldom greets people when he comes in contact with them. Only those who go and greet him is acknowledged. During a incident at the ICU Ward, Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Seremban he just passed me and a number of people waiting there, he just stared and walked away. Unlike the former MB Mohd Isa, he will shake hands and speak something or other at everyone there, whether he knows them or not.

UMNO leaders never in their life dreamed that they will be ousted so easily by the rakyat. Corruption was so rampant that it affected every day life. Their leaders always thought they were above the law and could do anything and get away.

For the people of Rantau, this is a test. If you vote for Tok Mat of UMNO, the development and needs will never come, since UMNO is no longer the ruling government in the State or in the federal government.

Even UMNO's status as a political party is still in a mystery. UMNO had violated its own party constitution by not holding their elections and general meeting as required by the law. Tok Mat was in the UMNO Supreme Council and he never voiced a word about this irregularities. He was "voted" Deputy President and now is a Acting President of UMNO.

PH candidate Dr Streram, who credentials show that he had volunteered and had provided humanitarian aid to many wounded Muslims in the war-torn Muslim nations like Afghanistan, Syria although being a Malaysian Indian of Hindu origin.

With such an excellent credentials of providing assistance even when not asked for, this is the type of person the Rantau voters should actually vote for.

To be frank, I have not met Dr Streram at all. But from what I gather around, he will surely walk the mile by being humble and working to resolve the Rantau voters woes when he has been approached to help.

Tok Mat was already given a opportunity to show his capabilities and his readiness to help the Rantau folks but he had failed them miserably. - Mohd. Kamal Abdullah
