MINISTER OR NOT, SURELY LONG OVERDUE FOR ZURAIDA TO BE DISCIPLINED BY PKR : IN SHOCK CLAIM, AZMIN’S WOMAN ATTACK DOG INSISTS HER PARTY MATES ‘FORCED’ INTO SUPPORTING ANWAR – YET WERE NOT THOSE WHO PREVIOUSLY PLEDGED SUPPORT FOR GAY-TAINTED AZMIN ALSO ‘INTIMIDATED’ TO DO THE SAME FOR FEAR OF OFFENDING THE SENIOR MINISTER
PETALING JAYA – PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil today denied there were any elements of coercion or intimidation on its party’s leaders in signing a pledge of support for PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Fahmi was asked to comment on PKR vice-president Zuraida Kamaruddin’s remark, who reportedly called the signature drive a ‘calculated move’, adding that it is not necessary that all who sign the pledge support Anwar.
She added that they may have done so because they felt intimidated.
“I feel at this time, this issue does not arise, because the leadership has made a decision, we will move on.
“We will move forward and no longer look at this matter, because what the people hope for, what the people want is for Keadilan as the biggest party in Pakatan Harapan, giving focus to the issue afflicting the rakyat .
“So at this moment, we take it that that matter has been resolved,” he told the press after attending the PKR’s central leadership council meeting here.
When asked if there were any such elements as claimed by Zuraida, Fahmi replied: “No.”
Malaysiakini on Friday, reported Zuraida as saying that the signature pledge in favour of Anwar’s leadership, might be a forced move.
“I would like to state that those who signed the support pledge, are not really in support, but maybe motivated to do so because they felt intimidated, and did it because they were forced to,” she reportedly said in a statement.
She also questioned the rationale behind such a drive, pointing out that Anwar already won uncontested in the last party elections.
“It only raises the question, which reflects the instability of the president’s position,” she added.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua also called upon Anwar today to put a stop to the signature collection drive and end the current tensions within the party.
According to The Star Online, both Chua and Zuraida pointed out that everyone in the party including party deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has agreed that Anwar would be the next prime minister.
PKR women’s wing chief Haniza Talha also voiced her displeasure over the signature collection drive, stating that such actions would only split the party further.
“There is no need for such a move as he won uncontested. All of us have agreed that he should lead the party.
“This also goes against the call by the president himself to unite,” she said.

Who started pledges of allegiance? PKR rep asks Zuraida, Tian Chua
PKR’s Hulu Kinta assemblyperson Muhamad Arafat Varisai Mahamad has shot back at concerns raised by party vice presidents, Tian Chua and Zuraida Kamaruddin, over the pledge of allegiance being made by divisional chiefs amid a tiff between party president Anwar Ibrahim and his deputy Azmin Ali.
“It is strange that there are people asking for the pledges of allegiance to stop when it is they who started it.
“Do they remember the statement they issued in support of Azmin on July 17? So who started it first?” he told Malaysiakini.
Tian Chua and Zuraida were among the 27 signatories expressing support for Azmin and calling for Anwar not to divide the party after the latter suggested Azmin should resign if a sex video implicating the PKR deputy president was proven to be true.
Subsequently, division chiefs in several states issued statements pledging support for Anwar.
Yesterday, Tian Chua expressed concern that the overzealous display of support for feuding leaders was undermining the party’s unity.
Zuraida, who is also the housing and local government minister and Ampang MP, had also suggested that grassroots may have been intimidated into pledging their support but PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the matter “did not arise“.
“My advice to Zuraida and Tian Chua is not to panic. Supporting the president is normal.
“The pledge of support from every state is a positive step to show the people that PKR stands with Anwar who will be the eighth prime minister,” he said.
Muhamad Arafat also rubbished claims that the division leaders were being coerced into expressing their support.
Last month, a sex video was released to politicians and journalists in several parts by anonymous persons.
Subsequently, former Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Abdullah Abdul Aziz admitted that he is one of two men having sex in a video. He claimed his partner was Azmin.
Azmin has dismissed the video as slander and an attempt to destroy his political career. He also alluded that it was an inside job.
Police have arrested several individuals, including Haziq and an aide to Anwar, as part of an investigation over the circulation of obscene content.

Amirudin prepared to face PKR disciplinary board over purported controversial statements
SHAH ALAM – PKR central leadership council member Amirudin Shari is prepared to face the party’s disciplinary board for purportedly making controversial statements against certain individuals in the party.
However, the Selangor menteri besar said he had yet to receive a letter from the board demanding an explanation from him.
“I do not know what I am supposed to explain to the board as I have not received anything yet.
“Once I get it, I will respond to it,” he said today after launching the state-level Korban Perdana programme in Section 7.
Asked whether it could be related to a speech he had given during a special thanksgiving prayer to reject gutter politics last week, Amirudin said he did not know.
The special thanksgiving prayer, held at Amirudin’s official residence last week, was attended by PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and other party leaders.
Last week, PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil was quoted as saying that Amirudin, Perak PKR chief Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal and a few other party members would be called to face to the board.
This was after the party received complaints that several leaders and members had allegedly issued statements that were deemed to be personal attacks against certain individuals in the party.
