Cool down with these easy apple pie ice cream squares (VIDEO)

NEW YORK, July 31 — Follow this easy recipe by Tasty to create a delicious take on everyone’s favourite — the classic apple pie à la mode.

Here are the ingredients you will need:

113g butter, melted
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (*)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 cups heavy whipping cream
414ml sweetened condensed milk
567g apple pie filling (1 large can)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Optional toppings:
Extra graham cracker crumbs (*)
Ready-made caramel sauce
(*) You may use any other butter-based cookie crumbs as a substitute.

Get started by mixing the melted butter, graham cracker crumbs and sugar in a bowl until mixture is well-combined. Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with baking paper and press the crumb mixture to the pan to form a firm crust. Place the crust in a refrigerator to set.

In another large bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks are formed.

Add in the condensed milk and gently fold into whipped cream, followed by the apple pie filling and cinnamon.

Pour the cream mixture over the prepared crust and smooth out with a spatula, and freeze for approximately 12 hours or until the ice cream is solid enough to cut.

Once the ice cream is set, lift the parchment paper to remove from the baking pan, and cut the ice cream into bite-sized pieces.

Additionally, you can choose to also dip the tops in extra graham cracker crumbs and top with a drizzle of caramel sauce.
