KHAIRY COPS OUT ON JOHOR PRINCE’S CORRUPTION PEN-DRIVE
KUALA LUMPUR – The pen drive handed to Khairy Jamaluddin by Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim contains other information – including technical issues on football and not just about corruption within the sport.
“It is not solely a document on evidence of corruption,” said the Youth and Sports Minister, adding that the pen drive contained information on the technical aspects of football as well.
Khairy said he would pour through in 279 pages of documents in the pen drive and pass on any information relating to corruption to the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC).
“If there is corruption, then I will surely hand it over to the MACC,” he said.
Khairy said information in the document also contained strategies for football development, and covered aspects of coaching and training including womens’ football and futsal.
“I can’t be handing them (MACC) matters on our style of football or they will be laughing at me,” he added.
However, to be fully transparent, Khairy said he was considering handing over the pen drive in its entirety to the MACC.
Last Friday, Tunku Ismail handed over the pen drive to Khairy after granting him an audience at Istana Bukit Pelangi, Johor.
The pen drive allegedly contained evidence of corruption within the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). – ANN
