Mel B from the Spice Girls Finally Explains Their Nicknames

Remember the Spice Girls? – Of course, you do. Some of us love to remember the old days and play some of their music.

They had a great career as a music group. As you know, they are equally successful now even though they are not together.

Victoria Beckham has her clothing line while Emma Bunton, Mel B, Mel C, and Geri Horner got into TV presenting.

I enjoy watching and hearing about them now and then.

In 2007 they shocked the world with their reunion. While we expected them to continue to do what they do best, nothing happened.

Mel B talked about it and seemed like she was ready to avoid every question about possible reunion again.

I know you know them by the real names, but back in the days, they were also known as Posh, Baby, Sporty, Scary and Ginger.

Who came out with those nicknames?

Mel B said that this wasn’t their idea. There was a reporter who did that kind of thing.

He was too careless to remember all of their names and started calling them like that.

“We had this one journalist that I guess was extremely lazy. Couldn’t bother to remember all of our names and just gave us nicknames. “‘That one’s a bit scary, that one’s a bit posh’ … and they just kind of stuck.”  – Said Mel B

They let those nicknames sit, though.

“It kind of just worked … I like mine because at least I’m scaring people before I even walk in the room.” 

That’s the whole story behind it. I never knew some reporter gave them the names.

If you look deeper in this, these nicknames suit them. Mel B was amazing and scary at the same time. Her voice was getting into your skin and gave you “that” feeling before you see her.

Man, I would love to see them again on tour.
