‘I FORGIVE NAJIB & EVEN HIS SCOUNDRELS SALLEH KERUAK, TUNKU AZIZ, ANNUAR MUSA’: MAHATHIR HOLDS OUT ‘AIDILFITRI’ OLIVE BRANCH TO TOP POLITICAL FOES

KUALA LUMPUR – In the spirit of Hari Raya, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said today he has forgiven each of his detractors, especially parties or people who have attempted to defame him.

The former prime minister also wished Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak a happy Aidilfitri, noting the latter’s reportedly merry open house event.

“Without them asking, I forgive my detractors, especially TV3, Utusan Malaysia, New Straits Times, Salleh Said Keruak, Tunku Aziz, Annuar Musa dan a few more,” he wrote on his blog.

Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak is the multimedia and information minister, while Tan Sri Annuar Musa is the Umno information chief.

Meanwhile, Tunku Abdul Aziz Ibrahim is a former DAP leader turned staunch critic.

The veteran statesman also claimed that Malaysian students he met in London were “afraid” to ask about the state of their home country, allegedly for fear that their scholarships may get revoked.

“After we prayed there were some lemang and serunding. I and my wife had the chance to talk to others in the congregation, including students.

“I noticed the students there did not at all ask about what is going on back home. They seemed afraid despite being very friendly,” Dr Mahathir wrote.

He also claimed that currently students no longer have the freedom to form pro-Opposition clubs, contrary to during his times.

Despite that, the controversial University and Colleges Act that bans students from political association, was enacted under Dr Mahathir’s administration.
