Chinese City Opens Up Spectacular ‘Ice City’ for International Snow Festival
The much awaited 34th International Ice and Snow Festival in Harbin, the capital of northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, has officially kicked off on January 5 where around 1.5 million people are expected to attend.
According to Xinhua, the festival opened its doors on Friday and the event will run for one month with other exhibits opened a bit earlier than the others, while some is expected to remain open until later – if weather permits.
It took more than 10,000 workers to actually finish building this icy place, which covers an area of around 800,000 square meters. It’s hard not to be amazed by how hard the people worked on this project to bring this incredibly spectacular displays. Just look at it.
You can see buildings made out of ice, monuments, statues, towers and other cool establishments in this year’s Harbin festival.
Heck, workers who put their hearts into crafting these amazing ice displays even made an ice slide for the children.
