312 policemen eligible for early voting in the Kuala Kangsar by-election on June 14
KUALA KANGSAR, June 11 — A total of 312 registered voters, comprising policemen, are eligible to vote early for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election this Tuesday (June 14).
Returning Officer for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election Mior Muhammad Jamil Mior Zakaria said early voting would be held at two polling centres — Tun Salleh Ismael Hall, Police Housing Quarters, Kuala Kangsar District Police Headquarters and the Manong police station meeting room.
The polling centres would open at 8 am. He said the polling centre at Tun Salleh Ismael Hall, with 292 eligible voters, would open until 5 pm, while the centre at the Manon police station, with 20 eligible voters, would close at 2 pm.
The Kuala Kangsar parliamentary by-election is called following the death of its incumbent Member of Parliament Datuk Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sebuyau, Sarawak, last May 5.
It will witness a four-cornered fight between Barisan Nasional, PAS, Amanah and an Independent candidate.
There are 32,949 registered voters in the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary constituency. Polling for the by-election is on June 18. — Bernama
