Beauty looks from the Resort 2017 runways
PARIS, June 4 — The clothes might be slightly outlandish but the beauty looks coming from the Resort 2017 collections have been largely fresh and understated.
Chanel kicked things off with a Havana show that saw the models sport dewy skin dusted with bronzer, with an apricot-hued blush highlighting the vacation vibe of the collection. Hair was neat but natural — pulled back off the face and either left loose around the shoulders or pulled into low-slung ponytails, with even the odd flyaway making an appearance. A hint of dark eyeshadow kept things sultry, while an orange-red lip modernised the look.
At Louis Vuitton, the models also wore their hair flowing and loose, with natural textures the order of the day. Faces looked scrubbed-clean with no obvious makeup, save for a slight glow to the skin and the lips that let observers focus all their attention on the clothes.
Gucci’s geek chic phase continues, and in terms of beauty this means a confidently understated look. Alessandro Michele’s resort models boasted perfectly powdered matte bases with pale matte lips. Eyelashes were curled but seemingly untouched by mascara — putting the emphasis on the brand’s statement eyewear.
Dior is the only major fashion house so far to have kicked the trend, sending models down the runway with fiercely scraped back hair gelled in place and dark eye shadow that reached the ungroomed brows. A lightly glossy but natural-looking lip, however, prevented the look from becoming too wintery. — AFP-Relaxnews
