Join ‘Power of Love’ charity night run this July 30

KUCHING: The Loving Society Kuching is inviting running enthusiasts to join its ‘The Power of Love 4.0’ charity night run this July 30.

The event, to be flagged off at CityOne Megamall’s link walkway at 7.15pm that day, hosts two categories – the 5km Fun Run and 10km Open.

Both categories are open to Malaysian citizens aged 12 and above, but those under 18 will need permission from parents or guardian. Normal entry fee for the 5km Fun Run is RM45 per person while for the 10km Open category, it is RM50 per person.

Registration closes July 24.

According to Loving Society Kuching president Kelly Ho, her teams will be stationed at CityOne Megamall every Saturday and Sunday, between 10am and 10pm, during its current roadshow for event registration.

She added that fun packs would be available for collection from The Loving Society booth from July 23 to 24 at CityOne Megamall.

Participants would also receive a quick-dry event T-shirt and a bib number. Those who successfully complete the run under two hours would each get a finisher’s medal, she added.

“We want to promote fitness and healthy lifestyle, while raising awareness and support for local charitable groups and voluntary service. Proceeds will go towards our community projects,” she said, expecting that the event would attract about 700 runners.

Those interested can also register via Whatsapp at 013-818 9896. To register, the person need to make an online or ATM payment and submit a photo of their receipt and completed entry form.

Another alternative is to visit the society’s office at No 9A, 1st floor, Jalan Badruddin here, between 10am and 5pm, on weekdays.

There will also be a colouring contest for kindergarten and primary school children this July 28 at Vivacity Megamall, scheduled to commence at 1.30pm.

“There are three categories – kindergarten, Primary 1-3, and Primary 4-6. Registration fee is RM5 per child for all categories, each offering three top prizes and 10 consolation prizes. Registration closes July 22,” contest organiser Kee Yu Kin said.
