SCCCI distributes Raya gifts

SIBU: The Sibu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) presented Raya gifts to 105 needy folks at Kampung Hilir here yesterday.

Its president, Hu Yu Siong, distributed the gifts in the presence of Assistant Minister of Science Research and Biotechnology Dr Annuar Rapaee.

Dr Annuar , who is also Nangka assemblyman said he was touched by the gesture of SCCCI in contributing to the needy especially the Muslim community during the festive celebration.

“SCCCI has shown a good example in Malaysia and a valuable example for everyone to learn,” he said adding that such community spirit must be inculcated among all Malaysians.

“We come together to celebrate the festive season, only then can we instill good moral values that we can pass on from one generation to the next generation,” he said.

Also present at the event were Temenggong Datuk Wan Hamid Edruce and president of United Chinese Association Kong Hian Khim.
