South Korean Election Coverage Hilariously Channels ‘Game Of Thrones’ And It’s Epic
A television channel in South Korea has found a way to make this year’s presidential election coverage a bit more interesting for audiences by summoning the dragons of Westeros.
By incorporating elements of the universally loved “Game of Thrones” in its vote-counting reports, broadcaster SBS injected some “epicness” in their segments, Daily Mail reports.
During the station’s coverage of the election results on Tuesday night, presidential candidates Moon Jae-in, Ahn Cheol-soo and Hong Joon-pyo were turned into characters from the massively popular HBO program. The production, made entirely in CGI, looks certainly impressive for a news segment. It even used the “Game of Thrones” theme.
With liberal candidate Moon Jae-in projected to win as he had won the exit poll results, the election was made to look like a race for the Iron Throne. Moon’s face was first depicted as a knight riding a horse before he was shown flying on a dragon. The images are interspersed with vote-counting results.
Moon’s victory marks the country’s first liberal rule in a decade.
