Solange Knowles delivers a healing experience with her 'Orion's Rise' performance at Radio City Music Hall

Solange Knowles doesn't know how to just play a show. 

Rather, the youngest of the famous Knowles sisters, knows how to cultivate an experience, and the first sold-out night of her two-day stint at Radio City Music Hall was no exception. 

Coming off the heels of the one year anniversary of the critically acclaimed album A Seat At The Table, Solange has perfected the art of creating a world in which people—particularly black women—are allowed to feel the full extent of their feelings (a là the track "Mad") and be free, and the spaces she crafts during the live performances of this album are simply an physical representation of that world. They aren't just her simply singing for audiences on a string of tour dates; "Orion's Rise," as she's calling this stretch of shows, is a performance piece, choreographed vision and a concert all wrapped into one featuring a perfectly curated opening lineup straight from her list of her favorites.
