Kedah BN chairman Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah says only BN can bring hope to Pokok Sena constituents.
POKOK SENA: Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has urged voters in the Pokok Sena parliamentary constituency to return the mandate to Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming election, saying they have been living in “darkness” under the opposition.
Ahmad Bashah, who is also state BN chairman, said only BN could bring hope to the people of Pokok Sena, whom he claimed had been deprived of development.
“The people cannot be cheated again this time. Don’t repeat your past mistakes because the losers will ultimately be the people themselves,” he said yesterday.
Ahmad Bashah added that cooperation between state and central governments was essential to development projects by the BN government.
In the 2013 general election, Mahfuz Omar won Pokok Sena on a PAS ticket while the Bukit Pinang state seat went to Wan Romani Wan Salim, also from PAS. The Derga state seat was won by DAP’s Tan Kok Yew.
Only the Bukit Lada state seat was won by BN’s Ahmad Lebai Sudin. - FMT
