EMPTY OR ‘EMPTIED’ & BY WHOM? ‘EIGHT SAFES AT SERI PERDANA EMPTY’ – NST
KUALA LUMPUR – The eight safes at the residence at the Seri Perdana Complex, Putrajaya, believed to belong to Datuk Seri Najib Razak were successfully opened by police yesterday.
Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigations Department Director (CCID) director Datuk Seri Amar Singh Ishar Singh when contacted confirmed that the vault was successfully opened with the help of two locksmiths.
He said the process of opening the cafe began at 12.21pm yesterday and finished at 3am yesterday.
“At 3am yesterday, the police in collaboration with two locksmiths had managed to open eight safes,” he said.
It is learned that the results of the inspection in the eight safes did not find any items or money.
Police are now focusing on investigations into other premises around Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and Kajang to find evidence of the investigation into 1 Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
Yesterday, Harian Metro reported that seven police official vehicles were out of the Sri Perdana Complex at around 4.20 pm.
The presence of the policeman was to investigate the eight safes owned by Najib who was in the official residence of the prime minister.
The CCID department team involving 10 officers and members entered the complex at 12.21pm to 1.10pm yesterday.
