Hero Who Kicked Out Racist Lawyer From His Restaurant is Korean American
Aaron Schlossberg, the racist lawyer who recently went viral for his restaurant meltdown, has not only been kicked out of his office space In Manhattan, New York, but also faces an investigation that may have his law license revoked.
Schlossberg was captured on video railing against Spanish-speaking restaurant workers at a Fresh Kitchen outlet in New York.
In the widely-shared footage, the lawyer threatened to call federal immigration officers to have the food joint employees “kicked out of my country” for speaking Spanish.
“Every person I listen to — he spoke [Spanish], he spoke it, she’s speaking it — it’s America!” Schlossberg ranted.
“I pay for their welfare, I pay for their ability to be here — the least they can do is speak English.”
In an interview with the NY Post, Fresh Kitchen’s 24-year-old Korean American manager, Hyunsik Kong, said Schlossberg was triggered after he overheard a conversation between a regular customer and a worker in Spanish.
“He got mad that they were speaking in Spanish and he started ranting, yelling, screaming. It seemed like he wanted attention,” Kong was quoted as saying.
“He got furious, started to talk really angrily about it, I just let it go at first because I thought it wasn’t too much of a big deal. Then, he started to scream and get a little bit too loud and I stepped up, and said ‘You shouldn’t be doing this here.’”
Schlossberg eventually left the establishment after Kong told him to leave.
“I was in awe…after it happened I was shocked,” he added.
Soon after his video went viral on Wednesday, he was sent packing from the business center at 275 Madison Ave. where he holds his private law firm office.
Corporate Suites president Hayim Grant told The Post Thursday that the firm that operates the business center decided to “terminated his services agreement”,
noting that he was personally “completely shocked” by lawyer’s racist rant.
“His actions are just not consistent with our community and rules and regulations,” Grant said. “It’s totally contrary to everything we believe in as a company and personally.”
Schlossberg may also soon face an investigation by the New York State Unified Court System’s Departmental Disciplinary Committee after Congressman Adriano Espaillat and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. filed their complaint against Schlossberg.
The complainants are aiming for a possible revocation of the lawyer’s license.
It was not the first time Schlossberg’s racism was caught on camera as similar incident two years ago resurfaced after his overnight infamy. In October 2016, Schlossberg allegedly attempted to shove a man named Willie Morris on the street in Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue before the lawyer went on a similar racist rant.
