RANTAU: Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr S. Streram said references made to his two daughters as "anak manusia" and cats as "anak bulu-bulu" was merely meant to be light-hearted.
"People always say I have a very serious face just because I am a doctor.
"The clip was to share my funny side...like a comedy," he said after casting his vote at the Rantau by-election on Saturday (April 13).
A video clip of Pakatan Harapan candidate Dr Streram introducing his daughters and cats raised chuckles among viewers confused by his use of Bahasa Malaysia.The video clip was uploaded on the Facebook page Tentera Troll Kebangsaan Malaysia (Malaysian National Troll Army).
"Shanti is passive. If she doesn't see me or my wife, she will throw a tantrum.
"Krishna is very agile but not very friendly," he said.
He also shows photos of his two daughters Dr Priya Dashni, who is a veterinarian, and Dr Premila, a dentist.
He jokes that all his children, including the "furry" ones, don't like listening to him.
Meanwhile, Dr Streram said he was also glad to see a big turnout at the SJKC Chung Hua polling centre.
Asked why didn't he speak at Pakatan Harapan's "grand finale" ceramah on Friday (April 12) night, Dr Streram said he had no reason to as it was Anwar's (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) stage.
The Rantau by-election is a four-cornered fight between Dr Streram, Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan and independent candidates R. Malarvizhi and Mohd Nor Yassin.- Star
