Osman submits resignation to Johor ruler

Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian has presented his resignation letter to state ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar this morning.
A statement on the Sultan's official Facebook page that was posted at 10am confirmed this.
It was accompanied by a photograph of Osman sitting beside Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Pasir Pelangi in Johor Bahru.
Also present was Johor state secretary Azmi Rohani.
"Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has granted an audience to Johor Menteri Besar Osman Sapian at Istana Pasir Pelangi, Johor Bahru today (April 13).
"During the meeting today, Osman has informed his resignation as the Johor menteri besar," said the statement.
On Tuesday, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced Osman's resignation as the Menteri Besar, 11 months after Osman was sworn into the office on the back of Pakatan Harapan's stunning election victory.
Mahathir had said that Osman submitted his letter to him when the pair met in Putrajaya on Monday. Osman's aide had claimed the letter was handed over during the 9th Malaysia-Singapore Leaders' Retreat. - Mkini
