Be prepared for Ramadan with Warong Buah’s Break Fast Fast Kit
KUALA LUMPUR, June 3 — Too busy to grab something to break fast? How about ordering the Break Fast Fast Kit by Warong Buah for Ramadan? It’s got all the essentials you need to break your fast comfortably like plump large Medjool dates, a 500-millilitre bottle of This is Water with pH8 to pH8.5, three large oatmeal chocolate chip soft cookies, an organic peanut butter granola bar and 100 grams portion of nuts and dried fruits. All the food items are sourced locally.
Warong Buah is an initiative started by advertising agency colleagues Farhah Pungut, Dafyasa Pradipta, Hairi Hashim, Hakim Ismail and Mo Nazmi to get people to eat healthy.
Launched in 2014, they created the Balang Sarapan or breakfast in a jar that contains oats, cornflakes, cereal, raisins, dried fruits, seeds and nuts. If you like fresh fruits, Warong Buah can also add bananas, grapes and freshly cut apples to the mix.
The kit retails for RM49.90 and is ideal if you are stuck in a traffic jam or the office with a pending deadline. Warong Buah is currently taking pre-orders for the second week of June, whereby the deadline is June 3 for orders. For the third week of June, the cut-off date for orders is June 10.
“Whenever we can we try to make the preparation as efficient as possible. We greatly reduce waste with accurate ordering and preparation,” said Farhah Pungut.
“No more covering upfront expenses and this is how we make sure everyone wins. Zero waste in particular, has become a proven business objective with many companies finding that eliminating waste can help the bottomline as well as satisfy employee and consumer demand for environmental responsibility.
“In this world, preventing waste generation would be the first step but it’s often hardest to do. It takes a long journey by ignoring a lot of quick wins. And here during this Ramadan, this is our small effort with a big heart inspired by a lot of generous minds and hearts in the industry.”
Even though the serving size for the set is for one person, it’s large enough to be shared between two people. The idea for the kit is based on Farhah’s personal experience during Ramadan when she found herself stuck in traffic before breaking fast. Being prepared with some munchies during breaking fast is the wisest thing to do.
“This kit can double up as a Balik Kampung Kit. The containers are unlabelled for easy refilling and recycling, so for those with the creativity, refilling with your favourite snacks is possible, this kit is just a kickstart for you,” said Farhah.
