Choo Bee jumps 9.91% on firm 1Q earnings

KUALA LUMPUR (May 22): Choo Bee Metal Industries Bhd saw its shares jump 9.91% in early trade today after its net profit rose over three-fold to RM11.55 million in 1QFY17 from RM2.85 million, on improved average selling prices, interest income and foreign exchange gains.

At 9.21am, Choo Bee rose 21 sen to RM2.33 with 680,600 shares done.

Revenue however fell 3.4% to RM97.32 million, from RM100.74 million in 1QFY16, due to lower contributions from the trading segment.
