IPOH: The opening of the first animation-themed park in Asia, Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS), on the second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri today was eagerly awaited by the public.
People were seen thronging the venue from as early as 8am.
Speaking at the pre-opening of the themed park, MAPS board of directors chairman Ramelle Ramli said about 7,000 visitors were expected to visit the animation-themed park until closing time at 10pm.
MAPs has more than 40 unique attractions with six world-famous animation themes, including Boboiboy, The Smurfs and several animated characters from Dreamworks.
According to one of the visitors, Noor Mas Ayu Che Noor Rasek, 33, she was very happy to spend time with her family at the themed park although some games and attractions are yet to be available.
