‘HE WOULD HUG & GRAB THEIR PRIVATE PARTS’: KAJANG MOLESTER ARRESTED AT SHOPPING COMPLEX

KAJANG – A 26-year-old man has been detained for allegedly molesting girls at a shopping mall in Cheras Selatan here.

It is learnt that the man had targetted girls at the shopping complex’s car park on Thursday. He would hug them and grab their private parts.

A 15-year-old girl claimed that the man followed her when she was in the carpark at about 4pm and grabbed her buttocks.

She ran away but the man chased after her and even tried to hug her from behind but failed.

The girl caught up with her friends inside the mall and sought assistance.

“She informed the shopping complex’s security guards and the police. The man was detained at the car park where he was seen lurking,” Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Othman Nanyan said on Saturday.

He said one of the girl’s female friends also complained of being molested by the same man.

“The suspect was brought to Kajang police district headquarters. We are investigating if he was involved in other cases,” ACP Othman said.

The man has been remanded until Sunday.
