Police report against Lokman Adam for new Anwar sodomy claim

PKR communications director Fahmi Fadzil has lodged a police report over a viral Facebook post by Umno supreme council member Lokman Noor Adam claiming there is a new sodomy allegation against PKR president-elect Anwar Ibrahim.

"I lodged this report because I think this is a statement with malicious intent, full of accusations and allegations and an attempt at trying to change public perception of Anwar who is a candidate for the Port Dickson by-election," Fahmi said at a press conference in Port Dickson today.

He urged the authorities to take swift action in this matter because he said he was told Lokman may issue more "baseless" statements similar to this in the near future.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail denied the latest allegation which she said was an attempt to smear her husband's political image.

"It has been answered... it's fake news," Wan Azizah said.

She was met after launching the National Counselling Month at the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry in Putrajaya.

Lokman had claimed in his Facebook post that Mediacorp Singapore had reported that an Indonesian student had lodged a police report in Singapore saying that he had been sodomised by Anwar.

Mediacorp has denied publishing such a news report and had contacted Lokman to remove the post. The Singaporean media organisation also pointed out that the republic's police force had denied receiving such a police report.

The post was later deleted and Lokman clarified that the article was not published by Mediacorp. - Mkini
